Big Bass 3in1

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Big Bass 3in1 bundles three light fishing mini-games into one app, and the whole thing works with the signal switched off. The core loop is casting, timing your reel-in, and landing bigger catches as you go. It sounds simple, and it is, but the timing has just enough weight that it stays satisfying past the first ten minutes.

Controls are all touch and gesture based. You tap to cast, then hold and release to set the tension while the fish pulls. The three modes vary the pace, one is calm and slow, one adds moving targets, and the third pushes you to chain catches quickly. Switching between them keeps things from getting stale on longer sessions.

What I liked most is how readable everything is. The water animation and the little splash effects give clear feedback, and there's no clutter fighting for your attention. It's a good pick-up-and-put-down game for a commute or a waiting room, and it never once asked me to go online.
